King of The Court: Soccer Tennis is coming to Philadelphia!
Everyone knows what soccer is and everyone knows what tennis is.
But not everyone might know about the combined sport known as soccer tennis. Soccer tennis is a unique game that has seen a growing number of tournaments taking place in the Philadelphia area throughout the summer. There was recently a big tournament in Wildwood, N.J. On Aug. 7, another tournament will take place in Philadelphia. These tournaments offer cash prizes, meaning those who participate take it very seriously.
For those who may not know, soccer tennis is pretty much exactly how it sounds. It is an interesting blend of both sports, as well as taking many elements of volleyball. Players usually play in teams of two and all games

Soccer Tennis serves up some fast-paced action!
SHORE NEWS...But Wildwood will embrace an organized form of the game this weekend when it welcomes the King of the Court Soccer Tennis Tournament Saturday July 30.
Started in 2008 in Milwaukee, Wis., by two brothers, Anthony and Michael Maher, King of the Court combines aspects of soccer, tennis and volleyball in a quick-moving game.

Atlantic City Press: Area’s new sports craze King of the Court appears in Wildwood, NJ
Maher brought the tournament to Wildwood last year at the tennis courts across from the convention center, where a series of championships among six different age and experience categories was held again this weekend.
In the three years that Maher has taken the game to different locations, he said awareness has grown and players are now trying to be competitive instead of just doing it for fun.

The “King of the Court” Soccer Tennis Tournament combines the ball skills of soccer with the court finesse of tennis. This unique event is being put on by Anthony Maher, a member of the Milwaukee Wave Indoor Soccer team and his brother, Matthew.
